About AADAAT

AADAAT Portal: A Reference for Saudi and Arab Folklore

The AADAAT Portal was established in mid-2008 as a leading electronic platform specializing in documenting and publishing Saudi and Arab folklore. The platform aims to collect and present rich and comprehensive content covering various aspects of folk heritage, including: Customs and Traditions: Exploring daily rituals and social occasions that shape the identity of communities. Heritage and Antiquities: Documenting historical and archaeological sites with accurate images and documentation. Audio Dictionary of Colloquial Dialects: The first Arabic audio dictionary to record local dialects with original recordings, translations, and explanations. Clothing and Fashion: Showcasing traditional fashion with its design and cultural details. Folk Food and Cooking: Authentic recipes with their historical stories and traditional preparation methods. Handicrafts: Documenting handicrafts such as weaving, pottery, and sculpture. Folk Tales and Legends: A collection of oral tales and legends. Narrated through generations.

  • Folklore Art: A section dedicated to folk dances (such as the Ardah and Samri), traditional performances, and various chants with video and audio recordings.
  • Founding Motives and Vision

Adat was established to meet the needs of the media and production market by providing specialized services in:

    • Crafting authentic folk and popular texts.
    • Content tailored to performance specifications, sets, and popular life in ancient historical contexts.

The platform also seeks to contribute to the preservation of Saudi folklore in particular, and Arab folklore in general, to be a reliable reference source that protects heritage from extinction.

    Development and Acquisition (2011) Onwards)

In 2011, TBS (Easier Business Solutions) acquired habits, propelling the platform towards field and production expansion. It launched diverse folklore groups and formed a field team that travels throughout the Kingdom to collect:

    • Folklore materials and songs.
    • Colloquial dialects and audio recordings.
    • Documenting antiquities and folk heritage.
    These efforts aim to:

    • Protect folklore from fading away: Confront foreign cultures and ensure the continuity of heritage.
    • Modern innovation: Produce Saudi folklore content based on artificial intelligence, adapted for virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies, without compromising authenticity and high quality.

AADAAT is not just an online portal, but a partner in preserving Saudi and Arab cultural identity, supported by modern technologies for a new generation. The future.
